ESSHL To Open Inaugural Season

DOVER, Del. — The Eastern States Showcase Hockey League (ESSHL) opens their inaugural season Saturday (Oct. 9), kicking off a three-day showcase at the Revolution Ice Centre, in Pittston, Pa., between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton.

The ESSHL features Tier 2 and independent youth hockey teams in the U14, U16 and U18 divisions from Delaware, Maryland, New York and Pennsylvania, and will host three showcase-style events in their 2021-22 Preview Season. In addition to this weekend’s ESSHL Scranton event, showcases are scheduled for January 2022, in Binghamton, N.Y., and March 2022, in Canton, N.Y.

“We’re looking forward to getting the league off the ground and giving youth hockey players throughout the Mid-Atlantic a unique opportunity to prepare for the junior and collegiate game,” said John Sidoriak, ESSHL commissioner.

Coaches and scouts from NCAA, ACHA and junior teams will be invited to attend all showcases, and every game will be broadcast in high definition through ESSHL TV.

The ESSHL Scranton showcase features teams from the following organizations:

Binghamton Freeze
Delaware Jr. Blue Hens
Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth
New York Apple Core
St. Lawrence Steel
Tomorrow’s Ice
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights
